Student Health Services
A clinical team, including a physician, nutritionist, and clinical psychologist, can work with a student’s primary care provider to develop healthy food and weight goals. A comprehensive health history is taken, and an agreement/contract is formed regarding behaviors.
Routine gynecological care (for pap smears, menstrual changes, family planning, etc.) by appointment. Same-day service for acute needs (“morning after”pills, vaginal or bladder infections, etc.); same-day pregnancy tests ($5). The pharmacy sells over-the-counter contraceptives and fills prescriptions.

Student Health Outreach & Promotion (SHOP)
SHOP offers information, education, resources, and support on issues such as Alcohol and other drug use, sexually transmitted infections and sexual health, and college life balance. All UCSC students are welcome and encouraged to drop in and speak with SHOP’s trained staff.

Please note that some lactation rooms require a key from an administrator to access. Others are only available during office hours, or are only available to staff members.
Off-Campus resources
Planned Parenthood – Westside Health Center
Family planning, reproductive health care, pregnancy termination, anonymous HIV testing, and general medical services for low-income clients. Educational materials and advocacy. Cash, checks, credit cards, MediCal, and Medicare are accepted.
