Women's Center Internship

Women’s Center Internship 2017-2018 

We are hiring 2-13 interns for the beginning of the year and a second recruitment will occur during the year.

Requirements: 10-12 hours/week $10.50/Hour

Project/Program Coordination:

Interns will develop, execute, and evaluate programming for a multicultural, socially diverse student body. These programs include Sister Solidarity Month, Take Back the Night, Year End Ceremony, and small-scale events such as women of color lunch series, and on-going projects such as the archive project and the Feminist zine. Interns will gain organizing skills by creating task lists and timelines, developing budget proposals, writing press releases, facilitating meetings, and working in a team setting. The internship also entails coordinating the online newsletter, designing and maintaining the Women’s Center website, creating a welcoming and helpful environment, light cleaning, and maintenance of the Women's Center.

Office/administrative work: Interns also provide clerical and administrative support to the Women’s Center staff, including answering telephones, providing information on programs and services, greeting the public, personally and by phone, providing a welcoming and helpful environment; database entry, errands, mailings; light cleaning and maintenance of the Women's Center/Cardiff House and creating purchase orders.


  • Solid understanding of social justice and gender equity.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collectively.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with a diverse staff and students.
  • Basic typing and computer skills, familiar with Google Drive, Calendar, spreadsheets, forms, and powerpoints.
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple ongoing projects and varying deadlines.
  • Responsible, reliable, resourceful, and have initiative.
